David Guetta coming to Atlanta, Nov 18th

The Liquified crew are bringing David Guetta, one of my favorite DJs and Producers, to Atlanta on Wednesday, Nov. 18th. Count me in! It will be at Opera and I cannot wait to get as close as I can to the stage, study his methods. Fantastic!

Serato Scratch or Traktor Scratch Pro?

Help me decide. Please. I'm debating between purchasing Serato Scratch or Traktor Scratch Pro. There are Pros and Cons to each, but would love your help in deciding. Both can allow me to use my CDJs with time controlled CDs. Traktor seems to have a lot more bells and whistles, including a lot more on-board effects. But Serato is more ubiquitous, especially in the States. Which just means it's easier when you're working with other DJs in most clubs these days.

Would love your thoughts via the comments below or email me.

Another Tryst Video, DJ Angie Terrell

Another video from Tryst last night. Fun with EQs and effects (delay). And a little jiggy by yours truly.

ps - this track is On the Dancefloor feat. Will.i.am. - David Guetta

Tryst Video - Oct. 16 2009

I had an amazing time DJing Tryst last night. It was a great crowd and a great vibe. The DJ alone cannot produce a great night or great vibe. We're just one factor in many that contribute. But we try to sense the mood and the attitude of the crowd and use that to take them on all sorts of different journeys through the night. As you can see from these videos that I'm going to post I was having a great time pulling out some tunes for the crowd to get them dancing.

Unfortunately, it was too dark in the club for any of the video that was taken of the crowd. The Flip doesn't have a light, so my camera-woman (the lovely, Elin) had to work with what she had.

Another Reason I'm a Huge Kid Cudi Fan

Love this video, directed by Sharam, who produced this song. Music producer and video director! Featuring Kid Cudi's great rhymes.

Dance the Way I Feel - Ou Est Le Swimming Pool

Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, apart from having a great name, are hailed as UK's Passion Pit. This song is catchy as hell and really fun to dance to!

Armand Van Helden, who I blogged about yesterday, remixed this song and I'm gonna play it at Tryst on Friday night! Don't miss it!!!

Trax for Tryst - Duck Sauce aNYway

Two of my favorite DJs/Producers have teamed up to create some bangin' new, old-school, disco-inspired tracks. Duck Sauce are A-Trak (former DMC champion and electro hip-hop house head) and legendary NYC DJ & Producer, Armand Van Helden. Their album was supposed to come out this week and I had hoped to bang out a few of the tracks for Tryst, this Friday October 16th

If you don't know already, Tryst is a monthly night I do over at Bellissima in Midtown Atlanta. I rock out some of the best house, disco, and electro (bmore, bangin', etc.) hits you can hear in this city.

Alas, the release of the nu disco, club anthems is delayed until the end of the month (just in time for Halloween & Pride, here in Atlanta). However, I do have one track off of the forthcoming album that I'm gonna play for you all. Let's just say, you'll feel all NAAAASTY just dancing to it. And I've got loads of other great tracks to pull out from A-Trak and Armand, individually.

p.s. if you know the exact date that the album drops, please hit me up through Comments or email me.

Until the end of the month....enjoy the new video by Duck Sauce:
