It's a Yeah Yeah Yeahs Kind of Day

I’m a huge fan of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I was just searching the web to see if they announced a Fall Tour, yet. Alas, all I see are dates in the UK for December. But there’s a big gap from Aug to Dec, so hopefully they will be coming down to Atlanta in the Fall.
The last time they came to Atlanta, in Oct 2006, I saw them at the Tabernacle. The show was amazing. Definitely in my Top 10 live shows of all time. Karen O is a supreme performer, with the likes of David Bowie and Freddie Mercury. Seriously.



She is my rock super-hero. She came out that night with a full-body spandex suit, a cape, and a mask!

Here are some great videos from that show. (Thanks to Oshimbo for posting all these videos) If you’ve never seen them live, you will want to after watching these. The energy was amazing in the Tabernacle that night.

Tick & Date With the Night
They asked the crowd to take a vote on which song they should play, Tick or Date with the Night. Tick is one of my favorite YYY songs. It’s RAW as hell and very sexy. But Date with the Night is also a great song. Great driving guitar in DWTN. So they were very close. They ended up playing both. I like a group that aims to please!
